Pinocchio – Sega Genesis Game

Pinocchio for the Sega Genesis is a side-scrolling platformer based on the Disney animated film. You control Pinocchio as he moves through stages drawn from the story’s settings, including the puppet theatre, the road to Pleasure Island and the sea, with each area presented in a cartoon art style meant to echo the movie. Play centres on running, jumping and climbing across hazards, avoiding or evading enemies rather than relying on heavy combat, and some stages change the pace with chases or swimming sections. Cutscene stills and music cues tie the levels back to events in the film. Controls are simple, using a jump button and directional movement, so the emphasis falls on timing platform leaps and learning each stage’s layout as you advance toward becoming a real boy.
