Pokemon Blue – Gameboy Game

Pokemon Blue is a role-playing game for Game Boy set in the Kanto region. You begin with a starter Pokemon from Professor Oak, then travel between towns catching and training wild Pokemon, filling in your Pokedex, and battling other trainers in turn-based, type-based combat. Progress runs through eight Gym Leaders, each awarding a badge, alongside encounters with Team Rocket, and leads eventually to the Elite Four and Champion. Pokemon gain levels, learn new moves and can evolve into stronger forms. The game is built around trading: some Pokemon are exclusive to Blue and others to Red, and certain species only evolve when traded, so completing the Pokedex requires linking with another player. A Game Boy Link Cable enables both trading and head-to-head battles between cartridges.
