Warrior Within continues the Prince’s story with a darker tone. Hunted by the Dahaka, a creature that enforces the timeline he altered, the Prince travels to an island fortress and moves between its present ruins and its past to change his fate. The platforming keeps the wall-running, pole-swinging and ledge work of its predecessor, and the sand-powered time rewind returns after a bad fall or fight. Combat is expanded considerably: you can wield two weapons at once, pick up and throw blades taken from enemies, chain combos, and use walls and enemies as part of attack strings. Several boss fights and timed chase sequences punctuate the exploration, and the game carries a heavier metal-influenced soundtrack. The GameCube version presents the same campaign as other releases.
