Project Horned Owl – PS1 Game

Project Horned Owl is a light-gun style shooter for the PlayStation set in a near-future city under attack. You take the role of pilots operating armed mecha, and the action moves along a fixed path while enemies appear on screen for you to shoot down. Targets include robots, aircraft and larger boss machines, and levels are broken up by story sequences delivered in an anime-influenced visual style. Along with your primary weapon you have limited secondary firepower to clear tougher groups of enemies. The game supports light-gun peripherals as well as standard controller aiming, and two players can shoot at the same screen together. As with most rail shooters of the era, runs are short, scoring and accuracy are tracked, and difficulty comes from reacting quickly to enemies entering the frame.
