Project Overkill – PS1 Game

Project Overkill is a science-fiction action game for the PlayStation played from an overhead, angled viewpoint. You choose one of several mercenary characters, each with different durability, speed and weapon preferences, and take on a series of missions for a corporate employer. Play consists of moving through industrial and alien environments, shooting enemies, collecting ammunition and health, finding keycards and switches to open the way forward, and reaching mission objectives. Weapons range from basic firearms to heavier explosive and energy options, and ammunition is limited enough that scavenging matters. Levels are viewed at a fixed angle with pre-rendered surroundings, and story context is delivered through cutscenes between missions. The tone is dark and violent, with a focus on steady, deliberate progress rather than fast reflex platforming.
