Rainbow Six – Nintendo 64 Game

A console conversion of the tactical counter-terrorism shooter for the Nintendo 64. You lead a multinational squad of operatives through hostage rescues, bomb disposal and building assaults, playing in first person while your teammates carry out their orders. Before each mission you review intelligence, pick operatives, assign weapons and equipment, and set out the plan your teams will follow once the mission begins. In the field, a single burst of gunfire can end an operative’s life, so the game rewards slow movement, checking corners and using doorways carefully rather than charging rooms. Failed missions typically mean restarting and rethinking the approach. Objectives include freeing hostages unharmed and neutralising threats, with mission briefings framing the action within a modern terrorism storyline. The result is far more methodical than most Nintendo 64 shooters.
