Rescue Mission – Sega Master System Game

Rescue Mission is a Sega Master System shooting game designed for use with the Light Phaser. You aim at the screen and fire at enemies while your view moves along a set path, defending a train carrying wounded soldiers through a Civil War-era setting. Rather than free movement, the game keeps you positioned at the back of the train, so play is about tracking targets as they appear from the sides and background and clearing them before they reach you. Ammunition and the survival of the men you are protecting are the resources under pressure, which encourages accuracy over rapid firing. A standard controller can be used in place of the light gun, moving a cursor instead of pointing. The presentation is simple and stage-based, with progressively busier waves of attackers.
