Resident Evil Outbreak – PS2 Game

Outbreak places you among ordinary civilians caught in Raccoon City during the viral outbreak, beginning in a downtown bar as the infection spreads. You pick from a cast of survivors with different starting items and abilities, then work through self-contained scenarios that each end with an escape or objective. The controls and fixed-camera presentation follow the earlier survival horror games, but the emphasis is on cooperation: other survivors accompany you, doors and obstacles often need more than one person, and a virus gauge steadily rises, pushing you toward infection if you take too long or take too much damage. The game supported online play through the PlayStation 2’s network adaptor at launch; offline, the other characters are handled by the AI. Scenarios are designed to be replayed with different characters and routes.
