Rugby 08 – PS2 Game

Rugby 08 is a rugby union game from EA Sports for the PlayStation 2. You play full 15-a-side matches with licensed international sides and club competitions, running the standard rugby structure of scrums, lineouts, rucks and mauls alongside kicking for goal and for territory. Controls cover passing along the line, offloads, sidesteps and fends in attack, with tackling, contesting possession and defensive line positioning on the other side of the ball. Kicking uses a meter-based system for conversions and penalties. Modes include exhibition matches, tournament and league play, and multi-season career options, plus multiplayer for two players on the same console. Presentation follows the EA Sports template with commentary, stadium crowds and replays between phases of play.
