Running Wild – PS1 Game

Running Wild is a PlayStation racing game in which the competitors are animals running on foot rather than vehicles. You choose from a cast of animal characters, each with its own speed and handling characteristics, and sprint through obstacle-filled courses in a variety of natural and man-made settings. Power-ups picked up along the route provide speed boosts and ways to hinder rivals, and jumps, hazards and alternate paths break up the running. Events are structured as races against a field of computer-controlled opponents, with further characters and tracks opening up as you place well. A split-screen mode lets a second player join in. The cartoon-styled presentation and simple controls keep it accessible, while shortcuts and boost management give experienced players something to work with.
