Shadow Man – PS1 Game

The PlayStation version of the third-person action-adventure based on the Valiant comics character. You control Michael LeRoi, who carries the Mask of Shadows and can travel between the living world and Deadside, a realm of the dead. The game mixes exploration, platforming and combat: you fight the inhabitants of Deadside with firearms and supernatural weapons while collecting Dark Souls and abilities that open up previously inaccessible routes. Areas are large and interconnected, encouraging you to return to earlier locations once you have the tools to get past obstacles, and puzzles are built into the level layouts. The tone is horror-driven, with cathedrals, caves and industrial spaces rendered in murky lighting, and a plot involving occult prophecy and a group of killers. Movement covers climbing, swimming and jumping between platforms.
