Shin Megami Tensei

The continuation of the Digital Devil Saga story on PlayStation 2, picking up with the same cast as their conflict moves beyond the world of the first game. Combat again uses the press-turn system, where striking an enemy’s weakness or scoring a critical hit earns your party extra actions, and the same principle works against you when foes exploit your vulnerabilities. Party members fight in both human and demon forms, and character growth runs through the Mantra system, spending points earned in battle to unlock skills and elemental affinities you can mix between characters. Exploration takes place in third-person dungeons with random encounters, broken up by story cutscenes. As a direct sequel, it assumes familiarity with the events and characters of the first game, and continues its plot to a conclusion.
