Shin Megami Tensei

A PlayStation Portable version of the first Persona game, in which a group of high school students in a Japanese town gain the ability to summon Personas, manifestations of their inner selves, after an experiment at a local laboratory goes wrong. Exploration takes place in first-person dungeons on a grid, with an automap, while battles are turn-based and fought on a tiled field where character positioning and weapon range matter. Demons encountered in combat can be negotiated with rather than simply fought, and the results of conversations feed into obtaining new Personas through fusion. This release adds animated cutscenes, a new soundtrack arrangement, and a revised translation, and includes both branching story routes. Menus and dungeon crawling take up much of the playtime.
