Shining Tears – PS2 Game

An action RPG for PlayStation 2 set in the Shining series. You control a swordsman with amnesia, exploring towns and dungeons from an overhead perspective and fighting monsters in real time with direct attacks and special moves. A partner character accompanies you into battle, and switching or pairing with different companions changes the abilities available to you. Between dungeon runs you talk with characters, take on requests, buy equipment and upgrade your gear as the story unfolds through anime-styled character art and dialogue scenes. Story progression is shaped by which companions you spend time with, giving multiple routes through the plot and encouraging repeat playthroughs to see different character arcs and endings.
