Singstar Amped – PS2 Game

SingStar Amped is a PlayStation 2 karaoke release in Sony’s SingStar line, focused on a rock-leaning set list. You sing into a USB microphone as lyrics scroll on screen alongside the original music video, and the game compares your pitch and timing to the song’s melody, scoring each line as you go. A pitch bar shows how close you are to the notes so you can adjust as you sing. Single-player mode is about working through songs for higher scores, while multiplayer supports two microphones for head-to-head scoring, duets and pass-the-mic play. The presentation is straightforward and menu-based, with the tracks doing the work rather than any elaborate progression system. Like other SingStar discs, it is designed with group play in mind.
