Sky Gunner – PS2 Game

An aerial action game in which you fly missions over a city and its surrounding skies, defending against attacking aircraft and airborne war machines. You choose from a small cast of pilots, each with their own craft and weapon loadout, which changes how a given mission plays: some favour direct gunfire, others missiles or alternative attacks. Objectives typically involve protecting a target or convoy while shooting down waves of enemies within a time limit, with large mechanical bosses appearing as set-piece encounters. Scoring rewards efficient shooting and successful defence, encouraging replaying missions with different pilots. The presentation is bright and stylised, with ornate fictional aircraft, cartoonish characters and a great deal of activity filling the screen at once. Controls are arcade-oriented rather than simulation-based.
