Space Raiders – Gamecube Game

Space Raiders is a third-person shooter from Taito that reworks the Space Invaders premise into a 3D setting. Alien forces descend on a city, and you fight back on foot through streets, plazas and other urban locations while enemy formations advance overhead and on the ground. You choose from a small cast of survivors and blast waves of attackers, dodging incoming fire and picking up weapons dropped in the environment to swap out your firepower. The action keeps the arcade rhythm of the game it draws from: enemies arrive in patterns, and clearing each area moves you forward toward larger opponents. The GameCube version is played with the standard controller, aiming and moving your character directly rather than on a fixed axis.
