SpongeBob SquarePants Super Sponge – PS1 Game

A side-scrolling platformer for the original PlayStation in which you control SpongeBob through 2D stages set in and around Bikini Bottom. Movement and jumping form the core of the game, with enemies to avoid or defeat, hazards to time and items to collect as you work toward the end of each level. Stages draw on locations and themes from the cartoon, and boss encounters appear as you progress. SpongeBob gains the use of items and abilities that change how you deal with obstacles in later areas. The presentation uses sprite-based visuals and the show’s characters and humour. Because it sticks to a straightforward left-to-right structure rather than 3D exploration, it plays as a compact platformer suited to short sessions.
