Star Wars Episode I Racer – Sega Dreamcast Game

Star Wars Episode I Racer on Dreamcast is a podracing game based on The Phantom Menace. You choose a pilot and pod and compete on sprawling courses that run through canyons, caves, tunnels and open desert, with shortcuts to find and walls that damage your machine on contact. Holding the boost builds engine heat, so you balance speed against the risk of a blowout, and you can carry out repairs while still racing. Prize money from events is spent on replacement and upgraded parts to improve speed, handling and cooling. Pilots from the film’s podracing circuit make up the field, including Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba. The Dreamcast version runs at higher resolution than earlier releases and includes split-screen racing for two players.
