Super Mario Strikers – Gamecube Game

Super Mario Strikers is an arcade-style football game for the Nintendo GameCube. Teams are made up of a captain from the Mario cast, a set of identical sidekicks and a Kritter goalkeeper, playing five-a-side matches on enclosed pitches. There are no fouls or out of bounds: electric fences surround the field and knock players back, tackling is encouraged, and items such as shells and banana peels can be picked up and used mid-play. Charging a shot builds toward a Super Strike, a captain-specific powered attack that can score multiple goals if you complete a timing minigame. Modes include single matches, cups and tournaments, with multiplayer supported for local play. Presentation leans heavy on rough, aggressive visuals and a rock-driven soundtrack rather than the usual Mushroom Kingdom look.
