Tecmo Super Bowl – NES Game

Tecmo Super Bowl expands the arcade-style football of its predecessor into a full season game on the NES. It carries both league and players’ association licenses, so real team names, logos and rosters of professional players are present. Playbooks are larger than in the earlier game, and the presentation adds cut-in animations for touchdowns, interceptions and field goals. Beyond exhibition and two-player matches, you can run a complete regular season with standings, injuries and player statistics tracked across games, leading into the playoffs. Player ratings vary widely, so individual stars stand out in the way they run, throw and tackle. Offensive plays are picked from a small on-screen menu while the defense simultaneously guesses, keeping each snap quick.
