Terminator 3: The Redemption is a third-person action game for the original Xbox based on the third film. You take the role of the T-850 across a mixture of driving stages and on-foot combat. Behind the wheel you steer along set routes while ramming and shooting at pursuing enemies; on foot you use firearms and heavy melee attacks, with a lock-on targeting system for picking out opponents. Enemies range from armed humans to other Terminator models, and set-piece boss fights against rival machines cap several missions. The structure follows events from the movie, with story sequences linking one stage to the next. It is a single-player game, played from a camera positioned behind the character during combat sections.
