The Flash – Gameboy Game

The Flash is a side-scrolling action game for the Game Boy starring the DC Comics speedster. You run through city stages as the scarlet-clad hero, using his speed to cross gaps, avoid hazards and close on enemies, with punches and dashing attacks for dealing with the thugs and machinery in your way. Levels scroll horizontally and end in confrontations with tougher opponents, and the pace of movement is the main hook, rewarding players who keep momentum rather than stopping to fight everything. The monochrome Game Boy presentation keeps the sprites and backgrounds simple and readable on the small screen. It is a single-player game played with the D-pad and two action buttons. Comic-book villains and the streets of Central City provide the setting for the action.
