The Mummy Returns is a PlayStation 2 action game based on the film of the same name. It is played from a third-person view, with combat that mixes hand-to-hand strikes and combos with weapons and items picked up along the way, broken up by platforming and exploration through tombs, ruins and other locations drawn from the movie. The game lets you take the roles of the film’s opposing sides, so play alternates between the heroic and villainous perspectives across its stages. Enemies include mummified soldiers and other creatures tied to the story, and levels typically task you with fighting through an area, navigating hazards and reaching an objective before a boss encounter. Cutscenes and environments follow the film’s Egyptian adventure setting.
