Tokyo Highway Battle – PS1 Game

Tokyo Highway Battle is a racing game for the PlayStation built around street duels on Japanese urban expressways rather than closed circuits. Races are one-on-one contests against rival drivers, run at speed through traffic and long sweeping highway curves, with the goal of pulling far enough ahead of your opponent to take the win. Between races you work on your car, buying and fitting parts that change engine output, handling and appearance, so a machine that struggles early on can be built up into something competitive. The car list draws on Japanese performance models of the era. The presentation leans on night-time highway atmosphere, with the road ahead lit by headlights and signage as you look for gaps in traffic at high speed.
