Toxic Crusaders – Sega Genesis Game

Toxic Crusaders for the Sega Genesis is a side-scrolling action game based on the animated series derived from Troma’s Toxic Avenger. You control Toxie, using his mop as a melee weapon while working through polluted urban and industrial stages filled with mutants, henchmen and environmental hazards. The game mixes beat-’em-up style brawling with platform jumping, and stages conclude with tougher boss encounters. Health pickups and items appear along the way to keep you going. This version is a separate design from the NES release rather than a straight conversion, with its own stage layouts and larger sprites taking advantage of the hardware. Visual style follows the cartoon, with garish colours and grotesque character designs matching the show’s environmental theme.
