Vigilante 8 – Nintendo 64 Game

Vigilante 8 is a car combat game set in a stylized 1970s American Southwest. You choose from a roster of drivers, each with their own vehicle and special weapon, and fight in open arena stages filled with destructible scenery, ramps and hidden areas. Weapon pickups such as machine guns, homing missiles and mortars respawn around the map, along with armor and ammunition, so matches become a mix of driving skill and pickup control. A quest mode gives each character a series of objectives and a short story tying into a conflict between highway vigilantes and an oil cartel, while arcade and multiplayer modes let you fight straight deathmatches. Split-screen play is supported for head to head battles on the Nintendo 64.
