Wacky Races for the Dreamcast is a kart-style racer based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon. You pick from the show’s competitors, including Dick Dastardly and Muttley in the Mean Machine, and race their distinctive vehicles across themed courses. Handling is arcade-oriented, with drifting around corners, jumps and shortcuts, and pickups that let you attack rivals or defend yourself as the pack bunches up. Placing well in races unlocks further content, and the presentation leans on the cartoon’s look and humour, with announcer commentary over the action. Modes cover single races and championship-style progression, along with multiplayer for a second player on a split screen. It plays as a straightforward licensed racer built around recognisable characters rather than realistic driving.
