Wild Wild Racing – PS2 Game

Wild Wild Racing is an off-road racing game for PlayStation 2 built around buggies rather than road cars. Courses run over dirt, sand, water crossings and uneven terrain, and the handling emphasises suspension travel and airtime over the hills and jumps that break up each track. Vehicles can be upgraded and unlocked as you progress through the game’s events, and races are run against AI opponents across a selection of environments. A split-screen mode allows two players to compete on the same console. Presentation is straightforward, with an emphasis on outdoor landscapes and the physics of throwing a light buggy across rough ground. It is an arcade-leaning racer rather than a simulation, so recovery from crashes and mistakes is quick.
