Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is an action game for Nintendo 3DS built around the timed score-attack mode from the Resident Evil series rather than a story campaign. You pick a character from the series roster, drop into a compact map and kill as many enemies as possible before the clock runs out, extending your remaining time by finding time bonuses and stringing kills together into combos. Characters have their own weapon loadouts, and a skill system lets you equip perks that adjust things like firearm damage, reload speed or melee ability. Missions escalate in difficulty and enemy composition as you progress. Two players can tackle missions cooperatively, with each player’s performance contributing to the shared result.
