• Side-scrolling ninja action built around sword attacks, enemy combat, and stage-based platforming.
• Rescued ninjas join the fight by adding new weaponry, training, and Ninjutsu magic to Joe’s arsenal.
• Special movement abilities include running on water, swinging from a crescent blade, and walking on ceilings.
• Ninjutsu techniques include tornadoes, earthquakes, energy shields, lightning, and a living bomb attack.
• Combat tools include bombs, shurikens, the slicer sword, and the crescent blade.

The Game Gear version adapts the Shinobi ninja-action formula for Sega’s color portable system with Neo City, the Oboro School, and Joe Musashi at the center of its rescue mission.
