Pink teddy bear costume, 8 inches, Sanrio on the tag: the design aims squarely at anniversaries and Valentine’s shelves. Eight inches is the size people actually give away, big enough to mean something and small enough that the recipient has somewhere to put it. Hello Kitty in a bear suit is hard to mistake for a generic gift-shop toy.
