8 Eyes – NES Game

8 Eyes is an action platformer for the Nintendo Entertainment System. You play as a swordsman travelling through a set of castles, each ruled by a duke and each with its own theme and layout, and you can tackle them in the order you choose. Accompanying you is a falcon, which you can send out to attack enemies and reach spots your sword cannot. In two-player mode the second player takes direct control of the bird, so the pair work through levels together. Progress involves exploring castle corridors, fighting enemies, and defeating the boss at the end of each stage to collect what you need to open the final area. Weapon behaviour changes depending on the equipment you carry, and the game leans on careful platforming and attack timing rather than speed.
