720 – NES Game

720 is a skateboarding game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, adapted from the arcade original. You skate around an overhead-view city area, using the money you have earned to buy equipment and to pay your way into skate parks. The parks each focus on a different discipline, including ramp skating, downhill runs and jumps, where you score points by landing tricks within a time limit. Scoring well earns more money and progresses you toward tougher competition. Between events you need to keep moving, because lingering too long in the open city brings a swarm of bees down on you and ends the run. The mix of a free-roaming hub and separate scored events gives the game a structure built around managing time and cash as much as trick execution.
