Adventures of Dino Riki – NES Game

Adventures of Dino Riki is a vertically scrolling action game for the NES. You control Riki, a boy in a prehistoric world, running forward on foot while dinosaurs, insects and other creatures come at you from ahead. Riki throws his weapon upward at enemies, and picking up power-ups swaps his attack between different projectile types and upgrades its strength; taking a hit can knock you back down to a weaker weapon. Stages mix solid ground with water and gaps, so much of the challenge comes from watching your footing while dodging enemy fire, with stepping stones and moving platforms to cross. Each area closes with a larger boss creature. Play is score-driven and continuous, with the difficulty rising steadily as you push deeper into each stage.
