Centipede – Gameboy Color Game

Centipede on Game Boy Color adapts the classic Atari arcade shooter for handheld play. You control a small shooter confined to the lower portion of the screen, firing upward at a segmented centipede that winds its way down through a field of mushrooms. Shooting a middle segment splits the centipede into separate pieces that keep advancing, so clearing a wave gets more hectic as it goes. Mushrooms block your shots and can be destroyed, while spiders, fleas and scorpions enter to complicate the playfield. Play continues through increasingly fast waves until you run out of lives, with scoring driving replay. The compact single-screen design suits short handheld sessions, and the game runs on Game Boy Color hardware as well as Game Boy Advance systems.
