Commander Keen – Gameboy Color Game

Commander Keen on Game Boy Color is a side-scrolling platformer starring Billy Blaze, a boy genius who puts on a football helmet and becomes Commander Keen. You run and jump through alien levels, bouncing to high ledges with a pogo stick and firing a ray gun at the creatures in your way. Stages are built around exploration as much as reflexes, with platforms to climb, hazards to time and items to pick up along the route to the exit. The colour palette and cartoon alien designs carry over the look of the character’s PC outings, scaled down for the handheld’s screen. Controls are simple, using the directional pad for movement and the face buttons for jumping, shooting and switching to the pogo stick.
