Conan: The Mysteries of Time is a side-scrolling action platformer for the NES. You play a sword-carrying warrior making his way through prehistoric and fantasy landscapes, fighting off creatures on foot while jumping across platforms and hazards. Your sword handles enemies at close range, and a bow lets you deal with threats further away, with ammunition picked up as you go. Levels scroll horizontally and are punctuated by larger enemies that block your progress until beaten. Collecting items along the route restores health and adds to your score. The game uses a life bar rather than one-hit deaths, so learning enemy attack patterns and spacing your swings matters more than pure precision. Play is straightforward: move, jump, attack, and push toward the end of each stage.
