Alien Syndrome – NES Game

Alien Syndrome on the Nintendo Entertainment System is a conversion of Sega’s arcade shooter. You explore maze-like space station interiors from a top-down and side-on perspective, searching for comrades held captive and freeing them before a countdown timer expires. Once you have rescued everyone, you head for the exit and face a large boss creature guarding the way out. Aliens spill from doorways and corridors as you go, and weapon pickups scattered through the maps upgrade your basic gun to items such as a flamethrower or a wider-spread shot. Getting hit costs you a life and your current weapon, so keeping your distance matters. An on-screen map helps you track which parts of each stage you have already searched, since the layouts are large and easy to get lost in.
