Donkey Kong – NES Game

A home conversion of the Donkey Kong arcade game for the NES. You control Mario, who climbs a construction site of girders, ladders, elevators and conveyors to reach Donkey Kong at the top and rescue the woman he has taken. Donkey Kong hurls barrels down the structure, and fireballs and other hazards patrol the platforms, so most of the challenge comes from timing jumps and choosing which route up to take. A hammer power-up lets Mario smash obstacles for a short time, though he cannot climb while holding it. Later stages have you removing the rivets holding the structure together to bring Donkey Kong down. Play is single screen, score-driven and loops with increasing speed, with two players alternating turns.
