Fantasy Zone – Sega Master System Game

A colourful side-scrolling shooter for the Sega Master System, converted from Sega’s arcade original. You pilot Opa-Opa, a small winged ship, through bright pastel stages populated by cartoonish enemies. Each level is a looping arena in which you must destroy a set of enemy bases before a boss appears, and you can fly left or right freely to hunt them down. Money dropped by defeated enemies is spent in an in-game shop on weapons, bombs, engines and extra lives, letting you tailor Opa-Opa to your play style, though many purchases are temporary. The cheerful art and upbeat music contrast with steadily increasing difficulty, and the shop system gives the shooting a light layer of strategy between fights.
