FIFA International Soccer – Gameboy Game

This Game Boy version of FIFA International Soccer condenses EA’s football game onto Nintendo’s handheld, with monochrome sprites on a scrolling pitch. You select a national team and play single matches or work through tournament competition against other countries. The two-button control scheme handles passing, shooting, tackling and goalkeeper actions, along with set pieces including corners, free kicks and penalties. Team formations and tactics can be chosen from the menus before kick-off, and match settings such as half length and difficulty are adjustable. Simple animations and an on-screen scoreboard track the game clock and score. Link cable support allows two players with their own systems and cartridges to play against each other. The compact presentation is designed for short handheld sessions rather than lengthy management.
