Gauntlet – NES Game

Gauntlet brings arcade-style dungeon crawling to the NES. You choose a hero class, each with different strengths in melee, magic and ranged attacks, and fight through overhead-view mazes packed with ghosts, grunts, demons and other monsters. Enemies pour endlessly out of generators until you destroy them, so clearing a room means pushing toward the spawn points rather than waiting for the flow to stop. Your health drains continuously as you play, making food items on the floor as important as treasure. Keys open doors, potions set off screen-clearing magic, and exits lead deeper into the labyrinth. Two players can work together on the same screen, sharing the items scattered across each level, which means cooperation and competition for supplies happen at the same time. Play is built around constant movement, crowd control and resource management.
