Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade – NES Game

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a side-scrolling action platformer for the NES that follows the plot of the film. You control Indy across stages drawn from the story, running, jumping, climbing and using his whip and fists to deal with enemies and obstacles. Levels include underground catacombs, castle interiors and desert sequences, each with hazards, pits and enemies to work past on the way to the exit. The whip serves as your main weapon and can also be used to reach otherwise inaccessible spots, while collectables and health items are hidden along the routes. Presentation uses NES sprite work and a chiptune soundtrack, with brief interludes marking the shift between the film’s major locations. Progress depends on limited lives and continues in the manner typical of the era.
