Iron Tank – NES Game

Iron Tank is an overhead-view action game for the NES in which you command a lone tank behind enemy lines during a Second World War setting. You drive through scrolling battlefields fighting infantry, gun emplacements, enemy armor and fortifications, with a main cannon that can be aimed independently of the direction you are travelling. Terrain matters: walls, water, buildings and obstacles shape your route, and some obstructions can be blasted through to open new paths. Along the way you collect power-ups that improve your firepower and defenses, and you can pick up items that change how your weapons behave. The game moves in a mostly vertical push forward with side detours to find upgrades and useful routes, and stages end in heavier confrontations. Play is single-player, with a mix of shooting and route-finding.
