Magmax – NES Game

Magmax is a shooter for the Nintendo Entertainment System, converted from the arcade original. You pilot a small hovering craft that can dock with additional parts found during play, building it up into a larger armed robot with greater firepower and durability. Taking damage can strip those parts away again, sending you back to the basic ship. Levels scroll horizontally and are split between open surface areas patrolled by flying enemies and enclosed underground tunnels where you must weave between walls and structures while shooting. Enemy waves approach in set patterns, and larger multi-segment foes appear as you advance. Play is score-driven and continuous, with the emphasis on holding onto your assembled robot form for as long as possible. Supports one player at a time.
