Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow – SNES Game

Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow is a side-scrolling platformer in which Donald Duck plays the part of Maui Mallard, a detective investigating a case on a tropical island. In duck form you shoot at enemies while navigating platforms, and switching to his ninja alter ego Cold Shadow gives you a staff for melee combat as well as for climbing and swinging to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Stages combine platform jumping, environmental puzzles and boss fights, and you move between the two forms to deal with different hazards. The Super Nintendo version features detailed, hand-animated sprites, layered backgrounds and a soundtrack that shifts with the setting of each level. Humour and cartoon slapstick run through the enemy designs and animations.
