Mega Man 2 – NES Game

The second Mega Man game on the NES. Eight Robot Masters can be tackled in any order from the stage select screen, and each one you beat hands over a new weapon that becomes the key to another boss or a shortcut through a later level. New to this entry are E-Tanks, which let you refill your health bar at any time, and the three Item numbers, platform-summoning tools that carry you across gaps and up walls in place of a single utility item. Stages cover factories, a crumbling tower, an underwater level and Wily’s fortress, with tight platforming around spikes, moving platforms and enemy waves. A password system records your progress, and the North American release offers a choice of two difficulty settings.
