NBA 3 on 3 Featuring Kobe Bryant is a handheld basketball game for Game Boy Color built around three-a-side play rather than full five-on-five matches. The smaller squads and half-court style keep games fast, with scoring, driving and shooting handled through a simple control scheme suited to the two-button handheld. NBA players are licensed, with Kobe Bryant as the featured name on the box. Because rosters are trimmed to three players per side, individual matchups matter more than team systems, and possessions turn over quickly. The game supports single-player matches against the computer, and its short game lengths fit portable play sessions. Presentation is scaled to the Game Boy Color screen, using simplified sprites and on-screen score and clock displays.
