Ninja Gaiden III Ancient Ship of Doom – NES Game

The third NES entry in the ninja action series, again starring Ryu Hayabusa. Play is side-scrolling: you run, jump, cling to walls and swing your sword through segmented stages, collecting items that grant secondary ninja techniques drawn from a spirit gauge. Each stage ends in a boss encounter, and cutscenes between acts advance the plot using still art and text. Levels mix platforming over hazards and pits with enemies that appear as you scroll, so timing your jumps and attacks matters as much as raw speed. Familiar series elements such as limited lives, checkpointed sections and continues shape the difficulty. If you have played the earlier NES chapters, the controls and structure will feel immediately familiar.
